Deere Park Lakefront

CNM was consulted after a landscaper-designed bluff wall failed twice over a 10-year period. Those previous attempts did not include discovery of the underlying issues or include an adequate engineering plan to address the structural issues. An extensive evaluation revealed the drains passing under the wall were crushed, leading to soil erosion, and the impending failure of the improperly designed and constructed walls.

The priority was to stabilize the bluff to fully protect the house and property. Today, the water is safely routed through bluff to the revetment, and native plantings throughout the bluff offer additional soil stabilization. The homeowners have the option to take the tram or the newly constructed stairway leading to their private beach. The stabilized beach is further protected by a new break-water and an enhanced revetment.
